• Responsible for supporting development of test automation systems in support of new product development, product verification, data collection and analysis, & manufacturing operations in a medical device environment. This includes, but is not limited to, test fixture design, assembly, implementation, documentation and validation of test and data collection systems.
• Involvement in helping develop, manage, document, electrical and mechanical test system to support for both immediate term and long term test development strategies.
• Support outsourced test engineering contract development both at the local and global level.
• Designs and develops tools and test systems/fixtures to be used to support product validation
• Designs parts of prototype systems for new products/processes
• Develops design assurance specifications and test methods
• Implements, generates and manages test system documentation
• Manages sustaining, preventative maintenance and test system replication
• Develops documentation test tools and solutions to support configuration management
• Develops and writes requirement specifications for test development work activities
• Instructs engineers and technical support staff on engineering test and build requirements
• Ability to supervise and prepare laboratory technician tasks and projects as required
• Provides written reports and engineering documentation as necessary
• Develops team problem solving and communication skills
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of standards and guidance’s relevant to the medical device industry
• Stays informed about applicable new rules, regulations, and standards
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area

• Works with RA, QA and Documentation departments to establish proper regulatory and quality documentation procedures.
• Works with Manufacturing on production problems and changes as necessary.
• Works with R&D, Marketing and cross-functional teams to improve the reliability & quality of new products under development.
• Works as a team member, when required, in the development of engineering designs and tests.
• Supplies Purchasing Department with specifications regarding parts to be purchased and OEM products/processes.
• Works with Safety, Health and Wellness, affected employees, and other necessary resources to ensure the highest feasible level of safety and hazard control.
• Works directly with finish goods suppliers in all aspects of product/process development, release, and sustaining activities. KNOWLEGDE, SKILL AND ABILITY
• Ability to define, develop and implement manual and automated test solutions
• Competent in verification and validation activities and associated test methodologies through interpretation of specifications, standards and requirements.
• Desired experience with test system architecture, development, deployment, and life-cycle management.
• High proficiency with managing all aspects of documentation control
• Experienced with change control, requirements management, source code control
• Comfortable interfacing with specialized and standard lab test equipment in both a stand-alone and programmatic capacities.
• Capable of diagnosing system-level hardware faults and root-cause analysis to the sub-assembly, board, or component level if needed.
• Knowledgeable in analog, digital and RF circuitry
• Desired understanding with IEEE 488.1/2, VISA, GPIB, Serial, USB, LAN, TCP/IP, RS-232, RS-485 communication interfaces.
• Desired experience with PXI, PCI, DAC, DAQ, DIO, etc…
• Well versed in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access
• Works well in a team environment to coordinate activities across multiple projects which may interact with various engineering disciplines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong background in data acquisition, automation and analysis
• Must have experience in customer-facing roles
