- Advise and enable the business (engagement SE’s and managers, HR, CFM) to make well-informed staffing decisions at deal shaping and proposal stage - Be responsible for and provide the complex client Engagements with accurate advice on strategic staffing & assignment costs during proposal and deal shaping. This includes:+ Providing high level immigration analysis and advice to make effective staffing decisions
+ Providing high level tax planning opportunities to reduce tax differential costs
+ Ensure RMS on-shore teams and ABS maintain close relationships with Engagement leads to anticipate staffing issues and answer complex questions & ensure RMS on-shore and ABS teams provide the relevant reports to support this
+ Partner and work closely with CTM, Entity tax group in GTG and CTS teams
+ Ensure use of standard documentation and promote self-service tools and cost effective solutions
+ Have knowledge and use of all Mobility Tools to provide advice to engagements and ensure tools are used by the teams.+ Managing Risk and Compliance Income and Social Taxes: - Be responsible for and set up standard country tax positions for secondment, taxability of standard compensation elements, equity plans, tax equalization policy, tax treaty application etc. for country(ies) of responsibility
- Be responsible for and incorporate filing positions in Tax Cost Estimate (TCE) and update annually
- Be responsible for and analyze tax legislation updates and changes and implement tax planning opportunities where relevant (expat tax regimes, special expats deductions etc)
- Be responsible for ensuring working relationship with external tax service provider in local country(ies) is established, Statements of Work (SOW’s) are completed and deliverables for tax compliance are set up and met
- Ensure RMS on-shore teams and ABS follow employee tax positions set up
- Ensure RMS on-shore teams set-up annual tax season briefing and debriefing with tax provider and attend where relevant
- Ensure tax compliance season is properly managed by RMS on-Shore/ABS teams
Be responsible for and provide tax technical direction and necessary guidance to resolve queries
- Manage tax audits: ensure accurate answers are provided on time liaising with tax provider and CTM/entity tax group where relevant
- Ensure that standard positions for social taxes and necessary tracking and payment implementation are developed in each country liaising with RMS on-Shore/ABS teams and other relevant departments
- Provide strong support to Assignment Managers to provide high touch tax services for Senior Executive: help them analyze equity tax issues if any, help them implement tax planning where possible, ensure they are using the equity tools developed
- Be responsible for and provide tax technical support for tax issues related to share plans in country(ies) of responsibility including customization of grant agreements where necessary
- Be responsible for and ensure tax reporting compliance for equity remuneration
- Be responsible for and ensure accuracy of tax withholdings related to equity remuneration liaising with Global Equity team
Maintain good relationships with tax authorities
- Provide support to RMS on-shore teams to answer tier 3 questions in tax area where relevant Immigration:
- Be responsible for setting up immigration positions for country(ies) of responsibility
- Be responsible for and analyze and provide solutions for complex immigration situations and inquiries
- Be responsible for and ensure RMS functions are in place to drive compliance with applicable immigration law.
- Ensure RMS on-shore teams and ABS follow employee immigration positions set up
- Highlight to RMS on-shore teams or ABS teams any changes to immigration processes which are required to comply with the law Be responsible for and alert leadership/stakeholder of any relevant immigration law changes or procedures that affects Our Client
- Where relevant, interact with local immigration authorities to get solutions for Our Client and maintain good relationships with local immigration authorities

Generally these Leads are Subject Matter Experts in several areas (immigration, income and social taxes, policies, equity plans … for domestic and cross border employees). They do also generally have strong individual tax expertise that enables them to cover both domestic and cross border equity plans issues.
It is expected they have a strong seniority in the international mobility area and that they lead or strongly contribute to global tax and people mobility initiatives in addition to their Area, Geographic Unit, or Regional responsibilities. In their area, geographic or regional responsibilities they generally manage a large country or a large number of countries (some of these can be remotely) and supervise directly or indirectly Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory team members. They are engaged in high visibly issue resolution. They also closely partner with RMS on-shore mobility teams, offshore ABS teams and the People Mobility GU Coordinator to ensure the smooth delivery of RMS operations by the relevant teams. An Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory Lead is accountable for delivery of Tax and Immigration Advisory Services and for managing tax and immigration risk and compliance for the country(ies) of responsibility within their Region/ Geographic Unit or Area. In addition, as Mobility Operations are handled by RMS on-shore and ABS teams, the Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory Lead is accountable for the control points agreed with RMS on-shore teams to ensure delivery of employee tax and immigration operations in accordance with internal policy and positions and legal requirements. The role will: Provide Advisory Services in the 3 following areas: 1/ Helping Client Engagements make well-informed staffing decisions during proposal/deal shaping. 2/ Supporting Mobility Managers for complex assignees with regards to tax planning opportunities especially in the equity tax area 3/ Managing Risk and compliance for tax, immigration, and GAAP Have regular interaction with Our Client\'s stakeholders/leadership; other internal teams including the People Mobility GU Coordinator, RMS on-shore and ABS teams and external vendors Involve the direct or indirect supervision of Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory team members in country/region located within the same office and in offices in other countries within the region if applicable. An Employee Tax & Immigration Advisory Lead will:
Be directly responsible for managing relationships with key executives and others outside of the team. Regular accountability to others outside of team Have accountability to other internal groups for Our Client and be responsible for decisions that impact an area/group outside the team regarding Employee Tax and Immigration Advisory Services (liaise with CTM, controllership, Finance, HR, Legal where appropriate) Supervises the management of tax and immigration vendor relationships, negotiates vendor contracts/service levels and addresses service issues. Have significant direct financial responsibility for country(ies) of responsibility (for example: savings regarding tax planning opportunities, tax audits costs or savings, immigration and employee tax SOW …) Have large influence on the business/ ongoing interaction with /business leadership Authority to make decisions; recognized and respected in business advisory capacity Lead or be an active participant in, manage or supervise others in 1to3 additional global projects or initiatives Lead or be an active participant in one of the one of the Mobility Centers Of Excellence: immigration, tax and finance, mobility advisory tools or policy/assignee support and ensure all their team members are aligned in one of these Centers Supervises and provides employee tax planning and risk management for country(ies) of responsibility with the objective of minimizing tax costs for Our Client\'s, as well as Client\'s Senior Executives/employees/cross border assignees
