JOB DESCRIPTION – IT Head
Function: Information Technology JOB PURPOSE: • To contribute to the company’s strategic & operational goal by providing fully integrated Information Technology (IT) solutions & services.
• To plan, implement & manage IT for the company.
• To have overall responsibility of the company’s IT budget, process, people resources & physical facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Please list the expected end results that must be achieved in order to fulfill your Job Purpose and the activities that help in achieving these results: 1. Strategy Development:
• Develop an IT strategy aligned with the organizational objectives and goals 2. Technology Direction:
• Research / evaluate / implement appropriate new technologies to keep the IT setup up to date
• Design and constantly validate the technology roadmap in line with corporate needs and technological advancements
• Benchmarking with industry peers for standards and best practices 3. Planning:
• Develop short term and long term plan, operating budget.
• Constantly monitor results and adherence to budgets.
• Evaluate Outsourcing of various elements of IT operation
• Prioritisation, Resource Optimisation and Timely Implementation by Program Managing various projects in the IT Portfolio 4. Infrastructure & Application Development:
Infrastructure:
• Set up and support Computing Infrastructure, Network Infrastructure (Voice & Data), Data center for business operations Application:
• Evaluate, Identify, Implement and Support Core Application (Lending)
• Evaluate, Identify, Implement and Support an ERP for back end
• operations
• Evaluate, Identify, Implement and Support CRM applications for
• customer facing situations
• Evaluate Identify, Implement and Support Document Management System to ensure information flow for core operations, regulatory/legal compliance 5. IT Processes:
• Prepare and implement of IT policies and SOP
• Arrive at and ensure availability parameters for mission critical applications and infrastructure
• Implement and constantly monitor Information Security policies for internal data security and compliance
• Design and implement DR solution 6. Business & People Engagement
Business Engagement
• Represent IT in Strategic and Operational meetings and periodic reviews
• Interfacing with various functions of the organization to identify and cater to their IT needs People Engagement
• Defining the IT organogram as per business needs.
• Seeking approval for headcount, hierarchy and budget of IT resources
• Hiring, mentoring and career development of the IT team with the support of HR. 7. Vendor
• Identify and evaluate vendors for various components of the IT services
• Negotiate, finalize specifications and SLAs for various IT products and services KEY DECISIONS:
Describe 3 or 4 key decisions that you have to make as a part of discharging your duties.
• Negotiation with vendors
• Cost Optimization MAJOR CHALLENGES:
Describe the major challenges that you face in performing your duties and what do you do in order to overcome them
• High service deliverables with zero downtime SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

1. Educational Qualifications:
Graduate / PG Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent 2. Relevant Experience:
• 12-15 years of experience of which at least 5 years in Senior Management driving IT Strategy and Operations of a mid-sized organization.
• A broad understanding of computer systems, networks, applications and operating systems to guide the organization in IT.
• Experience in managing multi discipline IT team comprising of Infrastructure, Application &
• Support 3. Behaviors:
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with internal/external customers with different levels of technical competence.
• Adept in negotiation and managing various IT vendors DIMENSIONS IN THE ROLE:
