•8+ years of Business Journalism experience. Must have an understanding of the digital medium – preferably experience in the same. Experience in creating and delivering digital content from web, to mobile, to broadband video.•An experience in any of the leading construction media would be preferable•Masters in Mass Media (MMM) with a forte towards writing•An understanding of the content restrictions and benefits of producing for Digital Platforms (e.g. music, video, images).•Entrepreneurial and willing to “roll up their sleeves”.•Excellent writing skills•Strong organizational skills•Proven ability to multitask

Essential accountabilities: •Lead in the formulation & implementation of editorial strategy •To lead a team of editors and journalists to write high-impact feature stories about global/domestic megaprojects and construction related issues •Commission authors & negotiate contracts, establish active contacts & strengthen existing ones. •To integrate WFM’s Online, print and events as the premier source of news, features, data, analysis and commentary that helps construction industry professionals do their jobs more effectively. •To manage WF content budget. To help manage travel and freelance expenses for the team and to work with art directors in managing photography and illustration budgets. •To work with editors and copy editors in editing cover stories, feature stories, features, top lists and departments such as construction economics, Pulse (project news), viewpoints, people, books, etc. •To collaborate with editors at across to create feature content that can be used for multiple audiences. •To work with web and multimedia team to create dynamic web presentation of features including slide shows and videos. •To coordinate creation of WF¹s data-rich top lists, quarterly cost reports and construction economics content (materials costs and indexes) with research and analytics team. To work with web team, art and production to design and format rankings and economics data to be attractive and readable. •To lead by example by writing feature stories on provocative industry issues delving into a range of different markets and gaining experience and expertise in both business and technical issues. To create multimedia content to accompany those features. •To cultivate the talents of direct reports to help them develop professionally and learn new skills. •To work with other editors and business and circulation staffers to identify niche markets where readers have strong information needs and would be willing to pay for events or new electronic products. •To contribute ideas to events planning team and to participate in WF’s events.
