Urgently required for a New World-Class Container Facility Terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port, Saudi Arabia. Overall Job Purpose To assist the HE in respect of civil maintenance and construction projects and electrical repairs associated with ports. Additionally to provide engineering service and coordination in respect of the initiation and execution of project work associated with other building works associated with the company. Core Responsibilities -Provision of a civil engineering service to senior management to facilitate project initiation, development and implementation. -Coordination with contractors on warranty matters related to terminal facilities such as berth, yard, roads, sub-stations, buildings, etc. -Ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently and effectively in order to meet company targets in respect of equipment availability, reliability and maintenance costs. -Ensuring that work is performed to the highest standard consistent with resources, the time available and with operational requirements. -Identifying problem areas, investigating and proposing solutions to management. -Ensuring that assigned personnel under his control is utilized effectively to fulfill company requirements and that priorities are properly set and met. -Carrying out investigations and reporting his conclusions to management together with proposals to improve rectify or eliminate problems or problem areas. -As required investigate, plan and implement assigned projects. -Communicating effectively with subordinates and senior management to ensure that work is carried out correctly and information is available to management as required. -Ensuring that work is carried out safely and according to workshop, company and port rules and regulations. -Ensuring that full and complete records are maintained to facilitate planning and analysis. -Any other duties or assignments as required from time to time by management. Essential Skills and Knowledge -Bachelor of Civil Engineering issued by a recognized institution in civil and/or structural engineering. Additional qualifications or experience in associated discipline(s) will be advantageous. -At least 10 years relevant hands on experience, 6 of which must have been as a in a senior staff position. The greater part of the experience should have been acquired in a civil construction organization or facility ideally associated with port construction or similar activity.
