The Technology Manager will serve as the senior development manager of the Alerts platform. This leader will have primary responsibility that includes understanding key business drivers and priorities, developing a compelling vision for the platform and defining and executing on a strategic roadmap that aligns with our businesses. Leadership requirements include strategic planning, leading a high performing team, and partnering with key stakeholders in both business and technology units within the organisation.. S/he will report directly to the senior development manager in department.
• Manages a group of developers and engineers to ensure productive staff and successful project delivery.
– Works on ensuring that the team has the tools needed to perform their jobs.
– Takes responsibility and accountability for platform issues,
– Creates team members’ objectives with tracking mechanism to hold each team member accountable.
– Works with team to ensure that project commitments are on track and within budget.
– Makes sure vacancies are filled time to ensure roadmap and commitments.
• Works with business partners to successfully deliver roadmap commitments.
– Works with business partners and his technical leads on staffing and budgeting.
– Meets project commitments; delivers projects on time and within committed budget.
– Works with business partners on business roadmap offering technical solutions to meet strategic direction.
– Assists in vendor negotiations and ensures that technical vendors meet SLAs and commitments.
• Manages virtual team across division to ensure platform availability, production quality and timely project delivery.
– Follows up on issues escalated to him across all groups making sure that roadblocks are removed ensuring that projects get delivered on time and within the committed budget.
– Supports the production team making sure that high priority items are addressed quickly in order to restore services.
– Ensures quality of applications (functional and non-functional)
– Monthly operating reviews designed to keep business partners and senior division managers apprised on development initiatives, progress, as well as platform availability and metrics.
• Driver of platform technology strategy.
– Looks for technology efficiencies from hardware, software, better coding practices, vendor arrangements, etc.
– Partners with business to incorporate technology recommended enhancements into the roadmap.
– Influences divisions on cross platforms decisions that increase efficiencies across the organization.
• Takes accountability and responsibility of platform issues.
– Makes sure that issues are addressed by the appropriate parties on a timely manner.
– Follows up with preventive measures to avoid same issues.
