 Job Description
The Role In alignment with the International strategy, the main focus area of the Operations Manager will be to adapt and implement the strategy within the allocated region/business unit to maximize sales, volume, trading performance and monitoring of operational standards and quality for company owned and franchisee shops. He/she will lead, promote and administer the Shop development program within the market. The Operations Manager will be accountable for ensuring the Shops growth and profitability within the network. Key Responsibilities He/she will utilize effectively the available resources and maintain open communications between the local organization and the franchisees throughout the assigned region/business unit. He/she will participate and contribute to the country strategy as member of the leadership team. Apply the strategy and standards in the network to maintain and ensure consistency of design, product offering and service. Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will be accountable for the following critical success factors: Manage the network ? Establish and maintain effective two-way communications between franchisees and the Company in an effort to promote full understanding of the Company’s strategy. ? Lead the design and implementation of the action plans designed by his/her teams in establishing the working processes and giving the directions and guidelines to the network ? Lead the contract negotiation with Corporate Franchisees, ensure legal compliance and follow-up ? Lead the recruitment of new franchisees and develop the existing ones with the aim of developing and growing the network with the area General Manager ? Overview the opening plan of new shops including the negotiating process, i.e. lease, new location and internal approvals ? Ensure respect and compliance of the franchisee contract within the network and partnership ? Communicate Shops culture, mission & model to partners and the network ? Oversee training and development of franchisees, and make effective staffing decisions. Franchise Specific ? Maximize retail sales and profitability of all outlets within the territory. ? Deliver consistent operating standards in accordance with Shop customer service and environmental audits. ? Manage & control franchisees to ensure delivery of Shop standards. ? Advise new and existing franchisees in all aspects of the management and operation of the business e.g. recruitment, training, cost mix, etc. ? Manage the Franchise Benefit Evaluation process including board approval for individual locations and corporate franchise development programs. ? Develop and enforce cost effective development through tender process to ensure maximum returns from minimum expenditure and within approval criteria. ? Project manage individual Shop developments in relation with the International Architect and Design Consultant. ? Investigate opportunities to reduce construction and equipment costs without compromising standards. Updating material database in liaison with local suppliers (architects, designers). ? Assist in the forecasting of future openings and associated sales levels for incorporation in annual plans. ? Control all administrative processes related to the contract process including contract renewals. Lead the team ? Lead the recruitment (specify job profiles) in partnership with HR ? Fix the objectives, follow-up the activities and development of skills at a daily level, do the appraisal processes of direct reports, recommend merit increase and manage and support process of sub-teams. ? Plan the training and development priorities with HR for the whole team Finance and Planning ? Maximise the organic growth and profitability of the regional points of sales in the network for the franchisee and the company owned shops ? Define and suggests the revenue and the profitability margin of the distribution network (company owned/franchisee) ? Suggest hypothetical budgets for short and mid-term to achieve objectives. Follow-up on activity, based on sales, profitability and quality. Training and Development ? Implements all International practices ? Implements ESP & Mystery Shopper Program in the shops in line with ? Shop development : Should have experience to participate in the intial shop development and liase with shop development team.
