Responsibilities - Manage operations of the legal department
- Providing legal guidance and advice in all matters
- Drafting/Vetting of Contracts/Agreements e.g. leave and license agreements, lease deeds, conducting agreements, Ownership agreements, franchise agreements and Consultants’ contracts etc..
- Ensure compliance of various statutory requirements as framed under legislations and enactments

- Take charge of all outstanding litigations of the company and approve various drafts of legal notices/ replies/ Plaints/Written statementssuits/ complaints/ notice of motion & other documents which arise as per different stages of the matter like affidavit in reply, rejoinder etc)
- Laision with advocates and solicitors for High court/ City Civil/ Small Causes Court/District Court matters(Compile documentary source for filing complaints and also briefing / elaborating the facts and events of relevant case.)
- File and pursue applications/litigations in respect of Trade Mark matters
- In depth knowledge of law and procedures in respect of Land Acquisitions
- In depth knowledge of laws applicable to real estate and retail Business
- Prepare reports for review and present them before the executive committee
- Negotiate contracts on behalf of the company
- Securing the assets of the company from illegal encroachments
- Documenting all legal documents of the company securely since several documents tend to be highly confidential
- Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
- Review and draft internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
- Formulate compliance check-lists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly.
- Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the department for executive management meetings.
- Contract negotiation
- Review all contracts or any other documentation where the Company has committed itself and assess legal implications that need to be brought to the executive management’s attention.
- Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities.
- Negotiate, review and draft documentation for business transactions and prepare and advise on the necessary checklist to be adopted to ensure information is submitted on time.
